The TR-808
I copped my Roland TR-808 drum machine in the summer of '86. I obtained it from Dan Peters the drummer of the grunge rock band Mud Honey. I remember talking to him one day mentioning I wanted an 808 drum machine and his exact words were "I hate those". He then informed he had one and would be more than happy to pass it along to me. I traded my 707 for it straight across. I stopped using it around the mid 90's where it ended up sitting on a shelf and collecting dust. I ended up selling it one day in 2000 when I needed some cash. It was one of the things I've always regretted. I figured I can get another one day and still plan on doing so but haven't yet. You can't keep everything you obtain during your lifetime but I'd suggest you try.

Vegas Invasion
Yep the "Butta Bros." took the show on the road as usual and this time to sin city. Insert Coins x Hot Peas and Butta is a marriage made in heaven!!! Seriously, there couldn't be a better spot that is right up our alley. 80's video game galore, tv screens everywhere showing our rare video footage. As you know it was 45's only for us and the one and only DJ88 warmed up the tables & crowd prior to our arrival....
You can catch an additional appearance from me and DJ88 @ Insert Coins - Las Vegas, NV 5.19.12

100 Yen
100 YEN: The Japanese Arcade Experience from Strata Studios on Vimeo.
Lets face it. When the Japanese get into something they totally conquer it. Records, sneakers, toys, video games and anything else related to american pop culture for that matter. Shout out to Christopher LaPorte for making this movie happen.

Heatrock
They say one mans junk is another mans treasure and I must agree 110% with this statement. I used to hit a little record shop and every time the owner would tell me there were some new records that came in but were just "junk" I would come up. Some of this "junk" included: Nathan Davis, Phil Ranelin, Weldon Irvine, Eugene McDaniels, Monty Alexander, etc. All mint all $1 each. I don't know about you but that is my kind of "junk". I recently came across this 45 that a shop told me was "junk" and I flipped when I heard it. Not only is it from the Pacific northwest region but it has everything that I love about records. It's clearly a private press, who knows how many were even manufactured? Minimal info. provided on the label and same exact label both sides. I absolutely love it. However, music is very personal and you might not like this one or even get it, but I do and that's all that matters. The horn solo kills.
